James Fitch is an
economist with more than 25 years of experience in
teaching, research, and business management
consulting. He specializes in agriculture, related
food industries, and natural resources. As a
faculty member at Oregon State University, he
taught both graduate and undergraduate students
while conducting research on international
agriculture and rural development. Subsequently,
the Ford Foundation employed him as a project
specialist with responsibilities for directing
research on agricultural policy and production in
Egypt. He continues to be a consultant to
government agencies and ministries in developing
countries. Since 1980, Dr. Fitch has also been
actively engaged in the management of a firm of
agricultural consultants while providing consulting
services to farmers and agricultural businesses in
the northwestern United States. |
