About Cambridge Data Systems

CAMBRIDGE DATA SYSTEMS was founded in 1996 to provide an on-line database of consultants to organizations involved in international economic and social development assistance.

To manage such a system which could work with little staff effort, Cambridge Data developed a web-based database infrastructure which was both efficient and effective ... and easy to use.

Client firms which used the system frequently asked Cambridge Data if they could buy the system to manage their own rosters of consultants. Cambridge Data met up with assortis.com, a Belgian firm which was hearing similar requests from its European clients and, in 2003, the two firms decided to team up to develop a commercially-robust system for sale to consulting firms worldwide.

In developing the system, it soon became clear that the basic System - which allowed affordable customization, easy data entry, easy data retrieval, and simple administration all over the web - could be applied to numerous business problems involving data.

Many of the ideas for additional services have come from businesses and organizations asking us if our system can be designed to help them.
