Is there a minimum period of time I must sign up for?

No. You can end the service at any time and will only be charged for services used. <back to top>

Is there any set-up fee?

No. Currently there is no set-up fee and the first month of service is provided at no cost. Near the end of the first month we will contact you to see if you wish to continue service on a monthly fee basis.  <back to top>

How long does set-up take?

Depending on our work load, we can normally get you set up in two to three days. Editing the data menus for you can normally be done within a day or two of receiving your edited default menus.  <back to top>

Can I change the title of any data menus during set up?

Yes. As noted below, adding menus does incur an additional cost, but changing the title or contents of a menu is done during set-up at no cost.  <back to top>

Do I need a web site to use this?

No. You can provide applicants with the web address of your application page in job postings or otherwise and they can apply directly on-line. Similarly, you and your staff can access the staff portion of the System from any browser without using your own web site.  <back to top>

What is the Service Level Agreement you provide if we continue service after the free period?

Please click here to see the sample agreement. In summary, we provide secure hosting of your system, handle backups of the data and all software/hardware support, and you pay us a small fee following each month of service.  <back to top>

What about upgrades?

Basic system upgrades (security patches, data base performance improvements, and the like) are provided at no cost to all clients as the upgrades are installed on our servers. Particular increases in your system’s functionality requested by you (e.g., additional menus beyond your basic set up), would involve a minor charge for programming which we would propose to you based on the effort involved. (For example, we charge a one-time fee of $100 for establishing a new data menu. There is no charge for editing the items in the current data menus.)  <back to top>

What is the pricing of the System?

Please see the pricing sheet on the main page of the system you are interested in: RMS for international consultancies; RMS – Recruiter Version; VSS.  <back to top>

Can I purchase the entire system or do I need to pay on a month-to-month basis?

We do not sell the system to be installed on your servers; we only host it on a month-to-month basis. As noted below, we will provide your data to you as a backup of the MS SQL Server tables at any time.  <back to top>

Do I need to provide credit card information to start service?

No. We will do the set up and provide one month’s service with no cost and no obligation. Only if you choose to continue will we establish an invoicing arrangement, including the option to pay by credit card. Payments must be in US Dollars drawn on a US bank or by major credit card.  <back to top>

Is there any guarantee against price increases?

Although there is no guarantee, we have never increased prices for current clients. Our monthly fees have increased slightly over the years, but only for new clients joining at the higher prices, not for clients who signed on at the lower prices. We have no plans or expectation of changing this practice.  <back to top>

Is there a limit on how many resumes I can have in the system or on how many staff members can access it?

No.  <back to top>

Who owns the data in my system?

You do. All the data in your system is your proprietary information and not available to anyone without your permission.  <back to top>

Who has access to my data?

Only people to whom you give access and a password can access your data. Our technical staff maintains access to the database provide upgrades and support only. If you wish to have us not have access, you can request that.  <back to top>

Can I get data backups?

Yes, backups of your database are available at no charge. The database runs on Microsoft SQL Server and we will provide the MS SQL Server backup of your data at any time.  <back to top>

What is your backup schedule?

We backup all data nightly and move a backup set off site for security weekly.  <back to top>

Where is the data held?

It is held on servers we house at RCN Corporation’s server hosting facility in Chicago, USA. The RCN facility provides a secure location, backup capabilities, uninterrupted power supplies, and other sophisticated infrastructure.  <back to top>

Suppose I want to move my data to a new system someday?

As noted elsewhere, we will provide you at no cost the backup of your entire database in MS SQL Server format. This does not include the web interfaces and certain tools (e.g., email notifications, password generation), but does include all your data in a widely known format. You could relatively easily (though it does require knowledge of SQL Server and may, therefore, require some outside help) import this data into your new database and configure that database to meet your on-going needs. We would provide reasonable assistance to your technical staff or programmers to help with this transition at no cost.  <back to top>
