Qualitative research, surveys, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, situation analysis, training/teaching facilitators, monitoring and evaluation of programs: reproductive health, STIs/ HIV/AIDS prevention, quality of care of services, training of ToT, maternal and child health, research concerning adolescents’ sexual behaviour, men’s KAP and contraception, gender inequalities, women’s empowerment, family planning and behaviour change communication.

2004 Team leader for the mid-term evaluation of the project SMARTWORK in Lagos, Nigeria. The project aimed at preventing HIV/AIDS in the workplace through the training of enterprise workers as peer educators and the development of support materials. US Ministry of Labour/AED/Development Associates.

2002 Team member of the project CHANGE, assessment of Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) in the activities sponsored by USAID/Haiti regarding HIV/AIDS prevention programs. A project administered by AED and Manoff.

2001 Team member for the evaluation of the project PRISM (Pour Renforcer les Interventions en Santé Reproductive et MST/SIDA). Performed the evaluation of the reproductive health services delivery and quality of care of PRISM in various regions of Guinea. A project of USAID/Guinea administered by MSH and LTG.

1999 Team member for the Evaluation of the "Proyecto Servicios Integrales para Adolescentes en Condicion de Pobreza." Performed the evaluation of four Institutions in Guatemala City regarding adolescents' sexual education programs. A project of the foundation Paniamor in Costa Rica, administrated by Futures Group International.

1999 Team member for the Review of Experiences in Operationalising Reproductive Health Programs. Analysis of UNFPA’s support to reproductive health counseling, information, education and communication strategies, programs and activities in Morocco. Analysis of IEC activities in relation to the socio-cultural environment including gender and women’s rights. Morocco/UNFPA.

1998 As a team member conducted focus groups and in-depth interviews with medical personnel and beneficiaries, in three regions of Bolivia; the Altiplano, Las Yungas and Santa Cruz for the final evaluation of the Community and Child Health Project (CCH). A USAID/Bolivia project administered by Futures Group/POPTECH)

1997 As a team member performed social and gender analyses of family planning clients and conducted workshop with health professionals in Parakou (Benin) for the preparation of "Results Package for the Benin Integrated Family Health Program." A USAID/Benin project administered by POPTECH.

1997 Designed and conducted inquiries concerning the Retrospective Study of USAID Contribution of Senegal National Health Programs since 1977. The qualitative study divided in two parts was composed of an historical component of oral stories and the analysis of four field trips conducted in Dakar, Louga, Kaolack and Fatick. A USAID/Dakar project administered by The Futures Group International.

1996 Health Services Specialist of a team, designed instruments and conducted exit interviews in order to evaluate the project "Appui aux Services de Santé." The research focused on the delivery of health services and the implementation of pharmacies in the health facilities of the West and East Provinces of Cameroon. A project of the European Union administered by The Futures Group International.

1996 Designed and conducted focus groups with sex workers, clients and STD patients concerning the prevention of STDs\AIDS and investigated the barriers to the use of condoms among sex workers who are not registered in STD clinics, their clients and STD patients in Antananarivo, Madagascar. A project of the World Bank/Futures Group International.

1995 Designed formative research and pre-tested instruments for KAP study regarding micronutrient interventions in three rural communities in Haiti. Also trained social scientists in qualitative research techniques for KAP study. Project OMNI administered by JSI/Manoff for CDS/USAID Haiti.

1995 Health Services Specialist of a team, analysis of the social soundness of Pre-Design Assessment for Community Health Partnerships (CHAPS) Malawi. Conducted focus groups with antenatal patients and in-depth interviews with medical staff, traditional healers and TBAs, Project administered by BASICS for USAID Malawi.

1994 Designed formative research and conducted focus group discussions with school girls, parents and teachers in order to evaluate the Female Education Scholarship Program (FESP) sponsored by USAID in Nepalgung (Nepal). Project administered by the Asia Foundation for USAID Nepal.

1993 Co-principal investigator of WHO’s focused ethnographic research study in Marrakech
(Morocco) on acute respiratory infection (ARI), in-depth multi-methodology research on mothers' knowledge, perceptions and practices regarding treatments of children experiencing ARI. Project REACH administered by JSI/USAID for the World Health 
Organization.

1991 Designed formative research for the investigation of traditional midwives’ practices during pregnancy, delivery and puerperium, and evaluated the implementation of the MOH/MotherCare birthing huts initiative for the Perinatal Regionalization Project in Tanjungsari, Indonesia. Project administered by MotherCare/Manoff for AID.


1990 Provided technical assistance to the Child Health Institute in Haiti (Haitian research center), for conducting surveys, in-depth interviews, operations research, focus group 
discussions and qualitative and quantitative analyses. Designed a monitoring system for 
evaluating the quality of care of the services of the Private Sector Family Planning Project 
(PSFPP) in Haiti.

OTHER WORK EXPERIENCE:

RESEARCH AND EVALUATION:

2003 Qualitative analysis of fifteen HIV/AIDS patients participating in the COMET Program of Chicago hospital. Patients were able to follow their condition through the display of their lab tests and treatment using the COMET computer program. A project administered by REAP Change Consultants, Steve Maack Founder.

2000 Consultant services: analyzed and wrote a booklet with Dr. Barbara Pillsbury and France Nguyen on issues discussed at the Beijing +5 meeting for women's empowerment and reproductive Health, a UNFPA project.

1999 Consultant services: Designed research and performed analysis of data for improving the performance of the Research Scholars’ program offered by the Center for the study of Women at UCLA.

1996 Consultant services: Synthesis and analysis of answers of preliminary questionnaires, for evaluation of the program "the Global Fund for Women," a project administered by the Pacific Institute for Women/Western Consortium for Public Health.

1995 Consultant services: Synthesis and analysis of USAID Reproductive Health Baseline Survey with Dr. Barbara Pillsbury, for AID/Washington, Office of Health and Nutrition and Office of Population.
