million, covered all phases of
crop protection i.e. training,
extension, regulatory activities
(plant quarantine, pesticide
control) and applied research.
Responsibilities focused on leadership of project
teams of up to 15 expatriate advisers and
consultants, as well as national technical and
support staff; general project
management and administration; and
overall technical direction with
particular emphasis on pesticide
control, plant quarantine, in-service
training, IPM and cotton pest
management.
* Entomologist, UNDP project
for developing applied agricultural
research, Liberia (1981-3).
Responsibilities centred on development of
entomological research in Liberian crops.
* Agricultural Officer,
Yemen Arab Republic (1971-5)
and Somalia (1967-70). Various roles,

Yemen Tihama; Officer-in-Charge of
the second of these projects
